A couple weeks ago my neighbor came to me raving about this warehouse called Villa Firenze. They had opened a store in Studio City on Ventura Blvd for a brief period of time just to get the word out about who they are and what they are about.
Villa Firenze is a discount wholesale textiles warehouses that specializes in luxury fabrics… esp. with things like window dressings, pillows, and duvets. The selection and price were awesome. The service? Well, let’s just say I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman… “Big mistake, big… HUGE!” First, no one approached me at all. I was on my own to figure out what was up with the store. Then one of the ladies asked me if I was looking for something specific after about 10 minutes. I told her that I was in the market for some short curtains for my kitchen. Then told her the specific color I wanted. She could only provide curtains in that color for something outrageous like $50 a panel. Once I told her that was more than I cared to spend she grilled me on why I even came there in the first place, and if I wanted something cheap I should “just buy a bed sheet at JC Penney.”
That is the moment I should have walked out. But I didn’t. I spotted pillows I in the color I wanted for my bedroom… $11.50! Geez, why I am I such a sucker for a bargain?
And finally, a beautiful frame, $7.50. I had to fight for that one though, as it was displayed on the 50% rack, and another sales associate didn’t believe me. I finally had to show her that the frame had been damaged, and she let out a deep sigh and reluctantly gave it to me.
Seriously, why did I spend money here??? I hate bad service. My neighbor said she had a different sales associate who was the daughter of the owner. She said this lady was really really nice and helpful. So, if you go there (cause the prices are awesome) hopefully you get the daughter.
Here’s a bonus photo of my cute dog Elijah with me new pillows in the background. 🙂
