Shine Gimlet

Yum

It’s my birthday week! What better way to start than with a refreshing cocktail with an unexpected twist? Everyone knows Gimlets for their simplicity and refreshing herbal flavors, but when the spirit is moonshine, it’s likely to raise an eyebrow or two.

You see, me and Matt were at BevMo cruising the aisles. When we got to the whiskey aisle, my eye immediately turned to the really cool Moonshine packaging. It’s all over-designed because hipsters and hillbillies are the only ones drinking it. Well, Midnight Moon caught my eye, and I made my husband buy it because I liked the bottle so much. Yep, that happened.

Moonshine on it’s own sorta tastes like gasoline (not that I know what gasoline tastes like), so I was on the hunt for a really good cocktail. When I came across this gimlet that includes lemon, mint and cucumber (my favorite), I was all “DING, DING, DING! We have a winner!” And a winner it was. I ended up having quite a few gimlets, and they were amazing every time.
