Do you have a website go-to when it comes to buying a dress for a special occasion? We all have our favorite haunts, and typically they are brick and mortar stores where we can actually try on the clothes. Let’s face it, buying from an internet store feels risky. You don’t know hat the quality of the fabric will be like or if the clothes will fit on the larger or small side of your dress size. Well, let me tell you, as a friend, if you have not tried out Eshakti, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Eshakti, the Internet's Best Kept Secret

This is the first dress I bought from Eshakti. Now, relax, I bought it in 2012, and they don’t sell it anymore. I saw it on Pinterest (in fact, it’s still on My Style Pinboard) and it checked all my style boxes. I finally got brave enough to buy it, and after what seemed like the longest two weeks of my life, I was delighted that it fit perfectly, absolutely true to size. I loved this dress so much, I wore it in my engagement pictures.

Wow, we looked young! I was so pleased with these pictures that I even bought another dress from Eshakti for our wedding reception in Charlotte (by the way, they no longer sell that dress either).

I loved that the dresses from Eshakti had a vintage look without an over-the-top print. Also, the skirt went below the knee. When I was about 13-years-old I remember visiting with my grandmother who looked down past my shorts and sighed “Oh dear, you inherited my knees.” Sounds rough, but it’s true. I didn’t get the prettiest knees. They are kind of wide and I’m knock-kneed, so dresses that go above my knee aren’t my favorite.

Over the last few months I’ve been getting Facebook ads from Eshakti. Every time I would see them I would think “Oh yeah, I love that store!” But I never bought anything, because the best part of Eshakti, and what makes Eshakti truly awesome, is the fact that everything is customizable. From the neckline, to the sleeves, to the pockets to the length. That means, you can’t get your dress overnight. It has to be made in India. When it is finally made, it ships rather quickly, but the wait can feel agonizing, especially when you know you are getting a quality dress you’ll love for a long time.

This was the dress I bought and is pictured above. This dress is amazing. It’s cotton knit, so it stretches, it’s a trapeze dress, so you don’t have to worry about your tummy, and it basically feels like pajamas. It also comes in an array of colors. Oh, and did I mention affordable? This dress is $54.95, and the shipping costs is nominal.

I love it with boots, but I know it will also look great with flats or even Toms. Eshakti carries sizes to 0-36, so anyone can order a terrific dress from them. Better yet, right now you get $30 off your first order from Eshakti. Let me put that in plane English for you. My dress was about $55. If it had been my first purchase the dress would have been $25, plus shipping. You can’t beat that! But if you are eyeing the perfect dress for your Christmas, Chanukah or New Years gathering, I suggest you order now, because they need to the time to make your dress to your specifications.

Here are some of my other current favorite now available at Eshakti.

These are beautiful and so affordable. I don’t have occasion to wear dresses often, but now I know where to turn! I hate shopping, so this will be a life saver! I’ve already pinned this. Sharing it with my mom. She would love this, too.
