Before and After

I’ve been talking about the HCG diet for weeks. I’m done… well, a few more days until I’m off maintenance, but for the most part I’m done. Lost 26 pounds! Here are the Before (on the left) and After (on the right) pics. Soooo, whadya think?

Phase 3 – Maintenance

I am finished with my diet. Woot! Now I am on maintenance (can now have dairy and eggs and nuts, and other delicious fats, oh my!), and decided to make a previous staple that is so near and dear to my lifestyle: Scrambled Eggs a la Julia Child. For six weeks I’ve been allowed to have nothing for breakfast except half a grapefruit and coffee. This way of thinking is anathema to me! I am a breakfast eater! I am a breakfast lover! I am a breakfast connoisseur! And now, my tummy hurts. šŸ™ But damn, it was good! pad of butter(melt in pan over low heat) 2 eggs1 tsp. milksalt and pepper to taste(beat for 30 seconds in bowl, then pour in pan) Once it congeals, start stirring rapidly. Remove from heat, add 1 Tbs. heaving whipping cream and Pecorino Romano cheese to taste. Voila! For lunch, Almond Satay Chicken and broccoli… leftovers from the tester sample I made for this FABULOUS Passover party I’m having next week. You’ll learn all about it with …

PARVE PESACH SUGARLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! What?

Adj. 1. parve – containing no meat or milk (or their derivatives) and thus eatable with both meat and dairy dishes according to the dietary laws of Judaism; “pareve margarine”; “parvebread” Pesach, Pesach, Pesach. I am so not prepared. I have been so crazy about sticking to my HCG diet, I forgot about Passover along the way. It’s not a problem really, because I will start Phase 3 (Maintenance) about 4 days before the big holiday. My only concern: we are COMMANDED to eat Matzo everyday for 8 days. I guess a bite or two wouldn’t hurt. Ugh. Anyway, I was invited over to a friend’s house for the 1st night. What to bring??? That G-d this particular host is diabetic, so I won’t offend by bringing something over that’s sugarless. Made my tester last night. Completely kosher for Passover, flourless, no kitniyot, sugarless, and parve. I know this seems like a marvel that must have been made in a laboratory, but no… made in my kitchen with all-natural ingredients. Here’s the recipe! Ingredients: 12 …

Great HCG Recipe!

I mentioned before that I’ve been on the HCG Protocol diet (day: 20; total loss: 16 pounds!), and the biggest concern for everyone with a limited amount of acceptable ingredients and only 500 calories to spare per day is… what the heck am I going to eat?!?! I’ve found many good recipes and will post them at a later date, but this one I made up last night and is by far my favorite. You see, I was at my mother’s house last Sunday, and she made soy sauce chicken. Of course, I couldn’t eat it, not on the diet, but I did have a little sliver to try it out. REALLY SALTY, but had a flavor I’ve been missing. I did a little research and found Bragg’s Liquid Aminos. Ok, not the same, I know. Hear me out. Bragg’s is also very salty, has a more bitter taste, but invokes a feeling of the far east enough that it is workable. A Little Change of Things

So, originally this blog was about cooking. However, two things got in my way: 1. I’m on this cleanse/diet thing and my cooking has not taken priority. 2. I have a lot of little projects going on around my house and I would kinda like to talk about those! Just for a quick update, I have been doing the HCG diet, on day 19 and lost 15.4 pounds!!! More than half-way there. A little sad though… didn’t lose ANY weight today, the first time in 19 days. I actually find when I’m most active, and not relaxing I lose the least amount of weight. Yesterday I was sick at home… like, really sick. However, it is important to take note: I have a sickness. That sickness involves boredom. When I’m home I spend all my time looking around the house and find things that need improvement. Also, I learned that my landlord gave me a break on rent this month, because I leased out one of the empty units (woohoo!). So, I went to the …
